The incident occurred around noon on Wyoming Avenue, where police responded to a call and found DeAnthony lying in the street with a gunshot wound. Despite the efforts of the medical team, he succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital. The Ruston Police Department immediately launched an investigation into the fatal shooting.
