On a Friday morning in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, an argument escalated to a fatal conclusion, leaving one man dead. On July 16, 2021, 32-year-old Darryl Weber Jr. was shot and killed on Harelson Street following a dispute. The incident occurred around 10:24 a.m., and Weber died at the scene. The man responsible for the shooting, 25-year-old Charles Wade, later turned himself in to the authorities.
Following the event, Charles Wade was arrested and booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish
Prison. The initial charge brought against him was manslaughter. The investigation into the shooting was handled by the Baton Rouge Police Department's Violent Crimes Unit, which also sought information from the public regarding the incident.
Ultimately, the legal process found Charles Wade culpable for the death of Darryl Weber Jr. Wade was convicted of manslaughter for the shooting.
