On October 3, 2023, Sedrick Wells, a 20-year-old resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, was fatally shot in the 6200 block of Howell Range Avenue, near the Howell Community Park. The incident occurred shortly before 11 p.m. when Wells was found with multiple gunshot wounds.
