Patrick Lynn Goines, a 32-year-old African American male, was tragically killed on July 21, 2021, in Shreveport, Louisiana. The incident occurred at a gas station located in the 2800 block of Hilry Huckaby III Drive in north Shreveport. On that fateful day, Emmanuel Dewayne Johnson, 31, was involved in an altercation with Goines. Johnson claimed self-defense, but the jury found him guilty of second-degree murder.
