On an early Friday morning in August, the quiet of East Feliciana Parish, Louisiana was disturbed by the discovery of a car ditched off Highway 10, just east of Clinton near the Amite River. Inside, authorities would find the body of 22-year-old Lance Gilmore of Greensburg. The young man, a male, had been fatally shot. The grim finding on August 6, 2021, launched a homicide investigation that would soon lead to arrests.
