In the pre-dawn hours of February 11, 2022, a violent altercation in LaPlace, Louisiana, claimed the life of 21-year-old Brandon Morris. The fatal encounter happened around 4 a.m. at the intersection of Jasper Lane and Cartier Drive.

An argument between Morris, a resident of Gramercy, and another man escalated, resulting in Morris being shot. He was privately transported to a nearby hospital but ultimately died from the injuries he sustained.
