In the spring of 2022, a young life was tragically cut short in Shreveport, Louisiana. Zynashaia L. Fielding, a 23-year-old female, was discovered in her vehicle at the intersection of Corbitt Street and Mansfield Road on April 16th. She had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced deceased at the scene by emergency responders from the Shreveport Fire Department.
The promising life of a young woman was extinguished in a senseless act of violence that left a community searching for answers.
Weeks of investigation by Shreveport Police Department's violent crime investigators led to a breakthrough in the case. Detectives were able to identify a suspect, and on June 1, 2022, they arrested 19-year-old Emmanuel Black. He was subsequently booked into the Shreveport City Jail and charged with one count of second-degree murder in connection with Fielding's death. While an arrest was made, authorities believed that other individuals might possess information crucial to the prosecution of the case and urged the public to come forward.
