In the early morning hours of September 24, 2022, a sense of normalcy was shattered in New Orleans. Daimeion Christopher Brown, a 21-year-old African American male, was in a car with two friends at the intersection of South Carrollton Avenue and Willow Street. At approximately 2:30 a.m., the tranquil night was broken by the sound of gunfire. A sedan pulled alongside their vehicle, and an unknown gunman opened fire, forever altering the lives of those inside and the community that knew them.
