Don Williams, a 61-year-old Black man, died in New Orleans, Louisiana on November 17, 2016, after a night that began as a gathering inside a Lower Ninth Ward home and ended in gunfire.

Shortly after 3:30 a.m., New Orleans police were called to a residence in the 1300 block of Deslonde Street on a report of a shooting. Inside, officers found Williams suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his chest and face. He was rushed to a hospital, but he did not survive.
