Corey Carter, 46, a Black man, was shot during a late-December night in New Orleans, Louisiana, when gunfire erupted in the 2700 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive/Boulevard in Central City. Police responding around 8:00 p.m. found two adult men wounded by bullets; Carter was unresponsive and was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other victim was taken by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment.
