Courtney Hughes, a 19-year-old African American female, tragically lost her life on December 26, 2022, in New Orleans, Louisiana. Hughes, a nursing student at Southern University, was visiting her family for the holidays when she attended a party at a short-term rental in the Lower Ninth Ward.
