On the last day of 2022, a fatal encounter in Shreveport, Louisiana, claimed the life of 44-year-old Kristopher T. Lewis. The male victim lost his life in the early morning hours of December 31st, in what authorities have described as a carjacking turned homicide.
The incident unfolded just before 1:45 a.m. in the parking lot of an apartment complex located on Knight Street. Lewis was reportedly sitting in a car with a female companion when they were ambushed by two armed individuals.
The assailants demanded money, and when the couple indicated they had none, the situation escalated tragically. Both occupants were forced out of the vehicle, and Kristopher T. Lewis was shot multiple times by both attackers.
After the shooting, the suspects fled the scene in the victim's car. The vehicle was discovered a short time later, having been destroyed by fire in an apparent attempt to conceal evidence. Despite the efforts of the Shreveport Fire Department who responded to the scene of the shooting, Lewis was pronounced dead from his injuries.
As of the latest available information, the Shreveport Police Department's Violent Crimes Unit is actively investigating the case. Authorities have urged anyone with information regarding the homicide to come forward. A reward has been offered by Shreveport Caddo Crime Stoppers for any information that leads to the identification and arrest of the individuals responsible for the death of Kristopher T. Lewis. To date, there have been no public announcements regarding any arrests or the identification of any suspects in this ongoing investigation.
