Clifton P. Lewis, a 41-year-old African American male, was a dedicated police officer with the Chicago Police Department. On December 29, 2011, while working an overtime security detail at a grocery store on North Austin Boulevard, he was tragically shot and killed during a robbery. The store had been targeted by robbers several weeks earlier, and on that fateful evening, three male suspects entered the store around 8:30 PM.
