Gacy on December 26, 1978, after discovering some of his personal belongings inside Gacy's residence. Gacy, known as the “Killer Clown,” was responsible for the rape, torture, and murder of at least 33 young men and boys in Illinois. Landingin was identified as “Body #32” among Gacy's victims. His identity was confirmed through fingerprints, dental records, and his father's recognition.
Gacy's crimes were among the most heinous in U.S. history, and his conviction for 33 murders set a record for the highest number of homicides committed by a single individual at the time.
