On the evening of August 18, 2023, 16-year-old Khaaliq Williams was fatally shot in Chicago's Garfield Ridge neighborhood. At approximately 7:50 p.m., Williams was standing on the sidewalk in the 4400 block of South Lavergne Avenue when an unknown assailant opened fire, striking him multiple times.
