On October 25, 2014, at approximately 2:15 a.m., Champaign Police were dispatched to the 900 block of West Bradley Avenue in response to a reported incident. Upon arrival, officers found 35-year-old Yojevol D. Sturkey, an African American male, lying unresponsive on the ground. He was immediately transported to Carle Foundation Hospital with life-threatening injuries. Despite medical efforts, Yojevol Sturkey succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival.
