R.L. Glenn Selvin, a 35-year-old Black/African American man, was shot multiple times in a parking lot on the 2500 block of West Springfield Avenue in Champaign in the early morning hours of August 24, 2025. Officers arrived after multiple 3:04 a.m. reports of gunfire and performed lifesaving measures before he was transported to Carle Foundation Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 3:33 a.m. The initial investigation indicated two people approached Selvin in the lot and opened fire before f ...
