Lonnie Scheel, aged 50, was found deceased on August 9, 2014, near the Canadian National Railway tracks behind a commercial building in Champaign, Illinois. His body was discovered in the 00-100 block of East Springfield Avenue, and he was known to be experiencing homelessness at the time. Authorities were notified when an individual flagged down an officer after noticing Scheel lying unconscious behind a building.
