Mark T. Farrar, a 41-year-old white male from Rockford, Illinois, died on May 15, 2015. His death was the result of a confrontation with police officers outside his residence. On that day, Farrar, who was reportedly drunk and distraught, retrieved an AR-15 semi-automatic rifle from his garage. His wife, fearing for their safety, sent their children away and called 911 after hearing gunfire.
