Tobias K. Smith, a 4-year-old African American boy from Rockford, Illinois, tragically lost his life on December 20, 2014. Tobias, along with his 6-year-old brother Tyrone Smith III and their mother Martia Flint, 24, were found shot to death in their residence. The incident also claimed the life of Demontae Rhodes, 24, who was present at the scene. The quadruple homicide shocked the Rockford community and led to an extensive investigation.
