Vonzell Banks, a 17-year-old African American male, was tragically shot and killed on July 3, 2015, in Chicago, Illinois. The incident occurred at Hadiya Pendleton Park in the Bronzeville neighborhood, a location named after another young victim of gun violence. Vonzell was playing basketball with his cousin and friends when a gunman approached the court and opened fire.
