Salvador Herrera, a 42-year-old bartender from Chicago, tragically died on October 15, 2023, while attempting to stop a car theft. The incident occurred in the early morning hours as he was driving home from his shift at the Butterfield Country Club. He intervened when he saw individuals attempting to steal an unattended vehicle on Chicago's Near West Side, but was fatally shot during the confrontation.
