On September 12, 2020, Joshua Davis, a 32-year-old African American man from Chicago Lawn, was fatally shot while driving in the 2300 block of West 63rd Street in Chicago. At approximately 2:05 p.m., a male suspect in a dark-colored SUV pulled alongside Davis's vehicle and opened fire, striking him in the chest. Davis was transported to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead.
