Sammy Hodges, a 43-year-old African American man, was tragically shot and killed on March 10, 2019, in Chicago, Illinois. The incident occurred early in the morning around 6:15 a.m. in the 600 block of North Cicero Avenue in the West Side Austin community. According to reports from the Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office, Hodges was standing on the street when he was shot multiple times, sustaining injuries to his back and leg.
