Demario Bailey, a 15-year-old African American male, was tragically shot and killed on December 13, 2014, in Chicago, Illinois. Demario was walking with his identical twin brother, Demacio, to basketball practice when they were confronted by a group of robbers under a viaduct on West 63rd Street. The attackers demanded Demario's Columbia winter jacket, which had been a recent purchase by their mother. When Demario refused to comply, he was shot in the chest and died shortly after.
