De Andre Adams, a 25 year old Black male from Chicago, was shot and killed on February 7, 2023, in the South Shore neighborhood.
That afternoon, around 1:45 p.m., he was in the 1600 block of East 78th Street when bullets struck his head and left arm; he was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner's office. Early reports noted that no one was in custody.
