Daysha Wright, a 21-year-old African American nursing student and mother of a 2-year-old son, was tragically shot and killed on March 9, 2016, in Chicago's West Town neighborhood. The incident occurred shortly after midnight while she was riding in a car with a friend, returning from a memorial gathering.
