Otto Bauder, a 19-year-old white male, was fatally shot on July 9, 1903, during a violent robbery at a saloon located at 1820 North Ashland Avenue in Chicago. The incident was part of a series of crimes committed by a notorious gang known as the "Car Barn Bandits," who terrorized the city during the summer of 1903.
