His mother, Fatin Salaymeh, expressed her grief and confusion over the senseless act, stating that Sami was not involved in any gangs and did not deserve to die.
The investigation into Sami's murder is ongoing. Chicago police have not made any arrests or identified any suspects in connection with the shooting.
