Angelo Brown, a 35-year-old African American male from St. Louis, Missouri, was fatally shot by police in Belleville, Illinois, on June 23, 2016. The incident occurred around 9:45 PM when Belleville Police responded to a call about a man with a gun at an apartment complex on Pheasantwood Drive. Upon arrival, officers encountered Angelo Brown, who was armed and fled on foot. During the pursuit, Brown fired shots at the officers, prompting them to return fire.
