Gregory Sims, a 25-year-old African American male, was tragically shot and killed on September 6, 2016, in Chicago, Illinois. The incident occurred in the Uptown neighborhood near Wilson and Kenmore avenues. Sims was pronounced dead at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center at 4:35 p.m. after suffering multiple gunshot wounds. He had been released from prison less than two weeks prior to his death.
