Jewneus Clifford Wilson, a 37-year-old African American man, was tragically found shot to death in the early hours of September 24, 2016, in the East Garfield Park neighborhood on Chicago's West Side. Officers responding to a call about a person down discovered Wilson around 2:35 a.m. in the 2600 block of West Wilcox Street. He had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:57 a.m. by the Cook County medical examiner's office. His death was ruled a homicide.
