Dewine Jones, a 24-year-old man, was fatally shot on January 13, 2025, in the Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood of Chicago. The incident occurred at approximately 9:15 p.m. on the 7500 block of South Eberhart Avenue. According to police reports, Jones was engaged in a verbal altercation with another man who was armed with a handgun. The confrontation escalated, leading to the suspect firing multiple gunshots at Jones. The suspect then fled the scene immediately after the shooting.
