The investigation into Jeremy's murder led to the arrest of Jeremiah M. Holt, a 20-year-old male from the Englewood neighborhood on Chicago's South Side. Holt was charged with first-degree murder, armed robbery, attempted murder, and aggravated battery with a firearm. According to Illinois State Police, Holt exited a vehicle on the Chinatown feeder ramp and fired into Jeremy's vehicle. Holt was apprehended after a brief foot chase and was held without bond at Cook County Jail. The case highlighted the ongoing issue of gun violence in Chicago and the need for justice for innocent victims like Jeremy.
