On April 4, 2017, Clarence Riley, a 68-year-old African American male, was found dead in his home in Pembroke Township, Illinois. The Kankakee County Sheriff's Office responded to a call at approximately 6:53 a.m. regarding a shooting at 17774 E 7000S Rd. Upon arrival, deputies discovered Clarence Riley with multiple gunshot wounds to his chest. Despite immediate efforts, Riley was pronounced dead at the scene by Coroner Bob Gessner.
