On October 5, 2021, 20-year-old Jose A. Ortega, a male resident of Pembroke Township, Illinois, was tragically shot and killed. The incident occurred in the 2600 south block of 13000 East Road in Pembroke Township. At approximately 4:22 PM, Kankakee County Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to the scene following reports of shots being fired.
