On April 23, 2017, 22-year-old Santwon D. Mobley was fatally shot in Chicago's Englewood neighborhood. As he exited a vehicle around 7 p.m. in the 200 block of West 61st Place, an assailant in a white SUV approached and fired multiple shots, striking him in the hip and head. Mobley, who resided in the same neighborhood, was transported to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 7:59 p.m.
