Corey Underwood, a 24-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on December 10, 2017, in Chicago, Illinois. He was shot in the leg in the Lawndale neighborhood on the city's West Side. The incident occurred around 6:25 p.m. in the 1300 block of South Komensky Avenue. Despite being rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital, Corey Underwood was pronounced dead at 7:06 p.m. that evening.
