Darren Martez Henderson, a 28-year-old African American male, was found dead on June 28, 2017, in Madison, Illinois. His body was discovered lying face down in an open field at the intersection of West 2nd and Jefferson. Authorities reported that Henderson had been shot multiple times and was believed to have been killed at the same location where his body was found. At the time of his death, Henderson was reportedly homeless.
The investigation into Henderson's death led to the arrest of 30-year-old Bryant Adair, a St. Louis resident. Adair turned himself into police in north St. Louis and was subsequently charged with two counts of first-degree murder in connection with Henderson's death. The Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis was activated to investigate the case, and additional information obtained from Adair linked him to the fatal shooting. Adair is currently being held without bond.
