On December 14, 2024, at approximately 3 a.m., deputies from the Marion County Sheriff's Office (MCSO) responded to a shooting incident in the 1200 block of Southwest Shorewood Drive, located within the Rainbow Lakes Estates subdivision near Dunnellon, Florida. Upon arrival, they discovered 41-year-old Jeffery Robbins, a resident of Inverness, Florida, deceased from an apparent gunshot wound.
Robbins was employed as a Plant Manager at the Donau Carbon Company in Dunnellon and was known for his love of racing, boating, and hunting.
In the aftermath of the incident, MCSO Major Crimes detectives initiated an investigation to determine the circumstances leading to Robbins' death. Authorities confirmed that all individuals involved in the incident have been accounted for and are being interviewed as part of the ongoing investigation. However, as of December 15, 2024, no arrests have been made, and the Sheriff's Office has not released further details regarding the motive or events surrounding the incident.
