On June 7, 2016, at approximately 12:49 a.m., Madison, Illinois police responded to reports of gunfire near 7th Street and Alton Avenue. Upon arrival, officers discovered two men inside a vehicle, both suffering from gunshot wounds. One of the victims, Roderick Demarcus Williams, a 31-year-old African American male, was transported to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The other individual was also taken to the hospital in critical condition.
