Torric Harris, a 40-year-old African American man, was found dead on February 9, 2018, in his home located in the 8100 block of South Drexel Avenue in the East Chatham neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. Harris was discovered with a gunshot wound to his chest around 10:30 p.m. and was pronounced dead at the scene shortly thereafter. The circumstances surrounding his death were immediately classified as a homicide by the Chicago Police Department and the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
