Alexis Burks, a 21-year-old African American woman, was tragically found dead on June 8, 2018, in Dolton, Illinois. She had suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was discovered in an alley near 146th Street and Woodlawn Avenue. Alexis, who had recently moved to Merrillville, Indiana, was a postal worker. Her body was found with no blood spatter around, leading investigators to believe she might have been transported to the location after being shot elsewhere.
