John Johnny J. Garza, a 35-year-old male from Maywood, Illinois, tragically lost his life on July 4, 2019. Garza was outside a family member’s home near North 6th Avenue and Lake Street when someone drove by and opened fire. He was shot three times and taken to Loyola University Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries a few hours later. The Cook County Medical Examiner's office confirmed that Garza died from multiple gunshot wounds, and his death was ruled a homicide.
