Marlon Godwin, a 31-year-old African American male, was tragically shot and killed on October 15, 2015, in Maywood, Illinois. The incident occurred shortly after 1 p.m. in the 700 block of South 4th Avenue. Responding officers found Marlon Godwin with multiple gunshot wounds. He was immediately transported to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, where he was pronounced dead at 1:20 p.m. The Cook County medical examiner's office confirmed the cause of death as multiple gunshot wounds.
