Shannon Newsome, a 21-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on December 15, 2019, in Maywood, Illinois. The incident occurred early in the morning around 5 a.m. when officers responded to a call reporting a shooting in the 1400 block of 6th Avenue. Upon arrival, they found Shannon Newsome with a gunshot wound to his chest. He was immediately transported to Loyola University Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.
