On January 1, 2024, a tragic shooting incident occurred in Maywood, Illinois, resulting in the deaths of two men, including 19-year-old Allonzo Mallett from Terre Haute, Indiana. The incident took place shortly before 2 a.m. in the 1500 block of St. Charles, where Maywood police responded to a call of multiple people shot.
