William DeAnthony Spruell, a 21-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on April 24, 2020, in Crest Hill, Illinois. The incident occurred during a drug deal at a Taco Bell parking lot. Spruell met Dwight Watkins, a 23-year-old Plainfield resident, for the transaction. An altercation ensued, leading to Watkins fatally shooting Spruell with a single shot.
