On the morning of April 26, 2020, Kamryn was shot in the abdomen in a targeted attack while sitting in a vehicle in an alley near a residence in the 2300 block of Jethro Avenue in Zion. She was rushed to Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan, where she succumbed to her injuries the following day, April 27, 2020. The Lake County Coroner's office confirmed that Kamryn died as a result of a gunshot wound.
