Anthony Maggette, a 53-year-old African American male, was tragically shot and killed on June 19, 2020, in the Grand Crossing neighborhood of Chicago, IL. The incident occurred at approximately 3:25 a.m. in the 900 block of East 79th Street. Maggette was standing on a sidewalk with two other individuals when Daevon Brownlee, a 20-year-old man from Kenwood, allegedly opened fire on the trio. Maggette was struck multiple times and later succumbed to his injuries at a nearby hospital.
